Quality Assurance Specialist

Summary: We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist that will be responsible for GMP compliance on all products, ingredients, facilities, and operations throughout the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain, create and administer SOP’s
- Monitor and enforce GMP compliance
- Review QC and production documentation for accuracy and consistency
- Maintain AER database and investigate product complaints
- Conduct mock product recalls
- Storage and tracking of retained finished products
- Manage CAPA program
- Label documentation and tracking
- Perform employee GMP and quality training
- Keep facility prepared for FDA inspection
- Inspect raw and finished materials
- Collect and log data from monitoring devices and equipment
- Monitor pest control program
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education is beneficial
- Previous QC/QA experience not required, but beneficial
- Familiar with GMP requirements and/or a background in dietary supplements/foods is beneficial
- Basic computer skills required: Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and basic desktop PC operation
- Ability to work independently or with others, learn quickly and change tasks frequently
- Steady concentration and a strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as material labels, instruction manuals, product specifications and operating procedures
- Ability to reasonably compare results to specifications to verify if result meets requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand, walk and/or sit
- Occasionally required to reach, balance, stoop, climb, bend, kneel or crawl
- Occasionally required to ascend and/or descend stairs
- Frequently required to talk and/or hear
- Frequently required to taste and/or smell
- Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
- Must occasionally lift, move, slide, raise and/or place 35 lbs.
- Frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Work environment consists of: office, cleanrooms, packaging & production facilities, and warehouses
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
